Old Testament Survey

Old Testament Survey

An introductory survey of the historical books and the major sections of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament: The Pentateuch, Historical Books, Wisdom and Poetic Literature, and the Prophets. The course provides an overview of the content, structure, literary genres, and theological themes of each book in the Old Testament canon. Students will explore the historical and cultural contexts of the Ancient Near East, the formation of the biblical text, and major interpretive methods, with special attention given to God’s unfolding plan of redemption. The course will be rooted in the conviction that the Old Testament is foundational for Christian faith, life, and discipleship.
